The national team of the UAE in road cycling and cycling sports for people with disabilities is participating in the 13th edition of the Asia Cycling Championship, which started yesterday in Thailand and will run until February 10. The national team includes: Zuaiban al-Makhiri, Ahmad al-Badwai, Abdullah al-Balushi, Salem al-Janebi, Salama al-Khatiri, Ayd al-Ahbabi, Said al-Zakhiri, and trainer Mohammed al-Marvi.
The team members have come after intensive training, and the athletes strive to achieve honorable results that will add to their sports resume. Recently, the cyclists of the national team celebrated impressive successes, winning five medals (two gold, two silver, and one bronze) at the Asia Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in June 2024.
The president of the delegation and player from the national team, Zuaiban Salem al-Makhiri, stated: "We are confident in our abilities to show a strong performance and compete for the top spots. This participation is recorded in the strategy of the National Paralympic Committee to strengthen the UAE's positions in Paralympic sports at continental and international levels."
