The Thai Police is investigating the defamation lawsuit filed by the national director of Miss Universe in that Asian country against this year's winner, the Mexican Fátima Bosch, as confirmed this Thursday to EFE by the police station handling the case. The Watphrayakhrai police station, located south of Bangkok, confirmed receiving the complaint, filed on November 12th on behalf of Thai businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil, national director of Miss Universe and owner of Miss Grand International (MGI), another beauty pageant. "The case is under investigation," stated a police spokesperson, noting that the Mexican, who is currently visiting media in the United States, has not yet been contacted by Thai authorities. In this regard, MGI assured EFE today that their lawyers "will take this legal process to its fullest extent," a day after they published the lawsuit on Facebook, as Bosch continues to state that Nawat called her "silly" during an argument on November 4th that went viral on social networks. The Thai national, in charge of organizing the pageant where the Mexican was crowned, denies having insulted Bosch and has taken legal action against her, while asking the media "to be cautious when reporting on this issue and to refrain from cooperating with or amplifying the false accusations." "The first set of evidence has already been presented, and now the police is gathering more."
