The South Bangkok Municipal Court in Thailand has issued an arrest warrant for Jakkaphong "Anne" Jakrajutatip, a Thai transgender businesswoman and former CEO of the Miss Universe Organization. According to local media, the warrant is issued in connection with a case of alleged fraud, in which Jakkaphong, along with her company JKN Global Group Public Company Limited, is accused of deceiving an investor into purchasing bonds worth almost one million euros. The arrest warrant was issued after Jakkaphong failed to appear at a scheduled court hearing, which the court interpreted as an attempt to evade the legal process. The South Bangkok Municipal Court held a hearing on the fraud complaint filed by Dr. Raweewat Maschamadol against JKN Global Group and its CEO, Jakkaphong. The plaintiff, in turn, alleges that between July and August 2023, the defendants deceived him by inviting him to invest in JKN bonds, even though the company was already aware of its financial difficulties and its inability to pay the investment on time. At the time, the court accepted the case for trial, and although Jakkaphong had been granted temporary release, her absence on the date of the verdict was considered a mockery of the process.
