In a recent report, a Thai official stated that authorities detained 70 migrants, including 30 children. According to this official, the group of migrants was discovered in the Tak province in the northwest of the country. They represented a mixed group of nationals from different countries in Southeast Asia.

They were apprehended at the border with Myanmar. An insider reported that many of those detained were in poor health due to the lengthy journey prior to their entry into Thailand. They were provided with medical assistance, after which they underwent further verification to establish their identities and possible refugee status.

"We will provide them shelter, food, and support until they can return home," stated the Thai official. The children were placed in specialized centers for underage migrants, where they are provided with everything they need.
