Rocha Denies Miss Universe 2025 Rigging Allegations

Miss Universe President Raúl Rocha responds to voting scandal, calling former judge Omar Harfouch's accusations a stunt for fame and defending the integrity of the competition.

The president of the Miss Universe Organization, Raúl Rocha, firmly denied the cheating allegations made by former judge Omar Harfouch following the naming of Fátima Bosch as Miss Universe 2025. In a media meeting on November 21 in Thailand, Rocha downplayed the Franco-Lebanese musician's remarks, dismissively referring to him as 'the pianist' and accusing him of seeking fame. The organization's board issued an official statement 'categorically rejecting' any tampering and warned it would take legal action against anyone who lies about the voting process. Rocha put the focus on the 120 participants, stating: 'My goal is very clear, that the shine is only for the women who represent their nations on that stage'. He refused to go into details about possible business with the Bosch family but reiterated that the panel of eight judges voted fairly and without anyone influencing it. Rocha's reaction attempts to calm the controversy that included booing at the Impact Arena and the departure of three jury members, reaffirming that Bosch's victory is valid and is the fourth time Mexico has won this historic title. At the press conference, a reporter asked Rocha if the event had been 'rigged'; the president stopped the question by showing his phone and asking for doubts to be raised beforehand to avoid 'uncomfortable situations'. Rocha concluded the topic with confidence, saying: 'Those who must shine are our queens of beauty around the world'.
