Miss Universe 2025 Victory Shrouded in Fraud Allegations

Miss Mexico's win at Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok sparks a scandal. A judge accuses organizers of fraud, the pageant producer expresses dissatisfaction, and the crowd boos the winner.

The final of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, has erupted in a major scandal. The crown was awarded to Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, but her victory was seen by many as questionable. Immediately after the coronation ceremony, boos were heard at the Impact Arena, with the crowd chanting 'fraude'. One of the judges, Omar Harfouch, resigned, stating that 24 hours before the final, he was approached by Miss Universe's executive director, Raoul Rocha, and his son in Dubai. They allegedly pressured him to vote for Bosch, saying, 'Because it will be good for our business.' Harfouch called Bosch a 'false winner' and promised to reveal all details on HBO in May 2026. The controversy was further fueled by the reaction of pageant producer Nawat Itsaragrisil. He was reportedly seen laughing nerviously when asked if he was satisfied with the judges' decision, which crowned the local contestant as the first runner-up. Later, he took to Instagram Stories to express his feelings, writing: 'Ten billion words that cannot be said' and 'I did my best to the maximum.' One comment on social media read: 'They are looking for the most beautiful woman, she is beautiful, but clearly not for Miss Universe. The real winner of Miss Universe is Ivory Coast.'
